About Us

Great Britain International Music Competition 2024 is an international competition with jury from the esteemed international award-winning faculty of Music Step Academy in the UK. The competition takes place over the Internet with a winners’ concert held in London.

The aim of the competition is to give advice, invaluable feedback and to promote talented young musicians, and to give young artists showing great musical potential from all over the world the chance to make their debut in the heart and important musical stage of London. If winners cannot take part in the live winners’ concert, their performance can be shared on Great Britain International Music Competition’s website with the winners’ approval.

The competition especially aims to promote and celebrate Hungarian music. Special prizes of the competition highlighting celebrated Hungarian composers and music include FRANZ LISZT PRIZEBÉLA BARTÓK PRIZE, ZOLTÁN KODÁLY PRIZE, FRANZ LEHÁR PRIZE, GYÖRGY LIGETI PRIZE, ERNÖ DOHNÁNYI PRIZE and HUNGARIAN MUSIC PRIZE. Applicants are especially encouraged to perform music by these or other Hungarian composers to win a special prize and have expert one-to-one coaching from the award-winning faculty of Music Step Academy, in which our faculty will share their knowledge and passion in stylistic and musical interpretation of such marvelous music composed by Hungarian composers, so that the young applicants would have a better understanding and appreciation of the composers’ works.

Through our website and our different media channels, we aim to provide publicity for young musical talents which can make you stand out for school and University applications, and also promotion for those who are especially considering a more professional musical career.

Our competition also has a strong educational focus and we aim to provide invaluable comments for all applicants in both preliminary and final rounds. All special prize winners will receive either online or in-person one-to-one music coaching in London from the distinguished faculty of Music Step Academy worth more than £55. Overall winner will receive a cash reward of £100 in addition to one-to-one music coaching worth more than £330.

Preliminary round application is completely free. For the final round application, an application fee including administrative and service fee of £75 will be charged to applicants in the solo category and £125 for chamber category.
